7/12/2018 was 1st Friday of December, 2018 and the 'so-call' last gathering of the year.
Shin Tiad reminded us that we must make this gathering our priority to meet.. 'rain or shine'. We must make it into the MBS/ACS Book of Records as the only Class to meet regularly for 10 over years. Seng Chye endorsed the statement and with such zealous call, 10 fellas of 'Class of '61' appeared at the Northam Beach for an evening of fellowship. Regretfully, a few could not make it with good reasons.
We were privileged to have in our presence, our long lost mate, Lee Choo Long. He was in Penang for a short holiday from London.
By 10.00pm, the familiar oldie songs of the 60s could be heard. And as usual, the band recognized our presence with much applause from the audience. The band played and sang our favorite songs. We sang along Mary Hopkin's 'Those Were The Days' and everyone was looking at us.
We are so proud that we are able to meet monthly for so many years. Mind you, we have been friends for 57 years, a record behold.
The evening gathering ended at midnight and we made our way home; very discipline, sober and our tummy full. We look forward to the next meeting.
